Preparing Your Firestick

⚠️
You must enable Apps from Unknown Sources first

TiViMate is not in the Amazon App Store, so Amazon restricts it by default. This setting unlocks third-party app installs — it's safe and reversible. You only need to do this once.

Section A — Enable Apps from Unknown Sources

1
Open Settings

From the Firestick home screen, navigate to the gear icon (Settings) in the top menu bar.

2
Go to My Fire TV

Scroll right and select My Fire TV (sometimes labelled "Device" on older firmware).

3
Open Developer Options

Select Developer Options from the list. If it's hidden, select "About" and click the Fire TV name 7 times to reveal it.

4
Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources

Toggle Apps from Unknown Sources to On. A warning dialog will appear — select Turn On to confirm.

5
Enable ADB Debugging (optional)

Toggle ADB Debugging to On. This is optional but can be helpful for troubleshooting later.

Section B — Install the Downloader App

ℹ️
What is Downloader?

Downloader by AFTVnews is a free, official Amazon App Store app that acts as a browser and file manager for your Firestick. It's the easiest way to install APK files.

1
Open the search bar

Press the magnifying glass icon on the Firestick home screen, or hold the voice button on your remote and say "Downloader".

2
Find Downloader by AFTVnews

Type Downloader in the search bar. Look for the result with the orange icon published by AFTVnews.

3
Install and open it

Select Get (it's free), wait for it to download, then open Downloader. Allow storage permissions when prompted.

2

Installing Your IPTV App

Recommended app: TiViMate

TiViMate is the best IPTV player available for Firestick — fast, stable, and purpose-built for large channel lists. We recommend it for all TheStreamPlug subscribers.

Section C — Install TiViMate via Downloader

1
Open Downloader and go to the URL bar

Launch Downloader from your apps. Select the URL/search bar at the top of the screen.

2
Enter the TiViMate download URL

Navigate to https://tivimate.com to find the latest APK download link, or search for "TiViMate APK Firestick" on AFTVnews for a direct link. Download the .apk file.

3
Install the APK

Once downloaded, Downloader will prompt you to install it. Select Install and wait for it to complete. You can delete the APK file afterwards to free up space.

4
TiViMate is installed

Select Open to launch TiViMate, or find it in your apps library. You're now ready to add your TheStreamPlug subscription.

Section D — Add TheStreamPlug to TiViMate

🔒
You'll need your credentials

After signing up, you'll receive your M3U URL, username, and password by email. Keep that email handy before continuing. No account yet? Start your free 24-hour trial.

1
Open TiViMate and add a playlist

On the TiViMate welcome screen select Add Playlist, then choose M3U Playlist.

2
Enter your M3U URL

Paste or type the M3U URL from your welcome email. Tap Next.

3
Complete setup and enjoy

TiViMate will load your channels. Give it a name if prompted, then tap Finish. Your channel list is ready.

Alternative: IPTV Smarters

No sideloading needed

Some versions of IPTV Smarters Pro are available directly in the Amazon App Store — search for it on your Firestick. It's easier to install but has a less polished interface. We still recommend TiViMate for the best experience, but Smarters works well if you want a faster start. Add your M3U URL in the same way: use the "Load Your Playlist / Xtream" option and enter the credentials from your welcome email.

Tips for the Best Experience

📶

Use the HDMI extenderYour Firestick came with a short HDMI extender in the box. Using it moves the stick away from the TV's body and improves WiFi reception significantly.

🔌

Ethernet > WiFiA USB-to-Ethernet adapter for Firestick (about $10) gives you a wired connection — far more stable than WiFi for live streaming.

🔄

Restart monthlyFiresticks accumulate cache over time. A monthly restart (Settings → My Fire TV → Restart) keeps performance snappy.

📱

Remote not responding?Download the free Fire TV app on your phone. It works as a full replacement remote over WiFi.
